Press Officer

From 2019 to 2021 I’ve been a Press Officer at the Constitutional Court of Portugal. As Press Officer I was responsible for the daily clipping, statistical data analysis and creation of analysis maps, communication and interaction with the media, press releases.

Other Roles: International Secretariat (monitoring of meetings, Portuguese-English-Portuguese translation, focal point, communication with Constitutional Courts, Embassies and other public bodies). Production of international event (creation of thematic itineraries, partner management, agenda management, transport, catering, entertainment, meetings, lodging; image management and brochures dedicated to the event). Citizens’ Ombudsman (analysis, interpretation, and response to presentations by citizens) and Artistic Inventory of the Constitutional Court (mapping of works, photographic inventory, survey of pathologies, creation of inventory sheets, computer systematization, database).

History and Heritage

I’m an Art Historian and Cultural Heritage Manager (PhD), specialized in religious architecture in shared-heritage scenarios in the Indian subcontinent (17th, 18th, 19th century), with over 10 years of research expertise. I’ve focused on Heritage Management in shared heritage scenarios and building of internal legislation for Preventive Conservation, bridging communities, stakeholders and professionals.

I’ve taken my History and Heritage degrees at the University of Algarve, Faro (2003-2007; 2009-2016), UCP-Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Lisbon (2009-2010).

I was fortuned to be awarded a research fellowship by CHAIA-University of Évora (2008), a PhD scholarship by FCT-Portugal: Science and Technology Foundation (2009-2012) and a research fellowship by Fundação Oriente, Portugal (2016-2018) for the development of PHAHA Project: Plan for the Preservation of the Historical and Artistic Heritage of the Archdiocese of Goa.

In 2017 i’ve integrated CHAM – Center for the Humanities (NOVA FCSH—UAc). Between 2008 and 2017, I was a research fellow at CHAIA: Centre for Art History and Artistic Research (University of Évora) with which I continue to cooperate.

Since 2015 I’ve integrated international projects funded by international and national institutions and was invited as a keynote speaker at international events.

I’m also a member of the Expert Database of International Council on Monuments and Sites, ICOMOS-Portugal  since 2016 and ICOMOS-India (2018).

10 years of my academic life in a glimpse

Scientific Researcher in the areas of Art History and Cultural Heritage Management, specializing in religious architecture in shared heritage scenarios in the Indian subcontinent and interaction of communities for the development of legislation and protection of heritage, promotion of heritage awareness with international organizations, bodies governments and communities. Member of research teams in several international multidisciplinary projects related to various institutions and universities in Portugal, France, Brazil and India (Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation-2016-18 and 2017-19; São Paulo University-Brasil-2015-18). Guest speaker for international projects (King’s College London-2017-18; organization of national and international events in Portugal and India (Évora-2013; India-2011 and 2019). Research project management in India (Oriente Foundation-2016; FCT-2009-12); Training: preparation of the syllabus and teaching of a 55-hour heritage management course at the Goa delegation of the Oriente Foundation (India-2011); at the invitation of the responsible, collaborator in the teaching of a master’s course (UFPel-Brasil- 2017). Lectures, communications and moderation of scientific panels at various universities in Europe, North America, South America and Asia (2008-2020). Publishing of books (2016 and 2019), book chapters (2017-2021), prefaces (2014), dictionary entries (2015) and articles in national and international journals (2009-2018). Peer-reviewing (2011-2020).

Training

I’ve organized and teached a sensitization workshop for conservation and restoration in 2011, in India, Goa. This 55h Workshop was attended by experts from different backgrounds and governmental institutions, in cooperation with Fundação Oriente, India, and the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman (CRCH2011).
